She is a communications and marketing consultant, working with a number of organisations, including teaching foundational marketing and business skills to students in Toi Ohomai's Bachelor of Creative Industries. She has previously worked in banking and journalism - as a sub-editor for both Fairfax and NZME, as editor of local newspaper, Bay News, and managing editor of five community newspapers in the region. She has a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Art History and Psychology, a graduate diploma in journalism and a post-graduate diploma in marketing. He worked in hospitals in Rotorua, Taupo and London before joining his family-owned company - Bay of Plenty Times, where he became managing director. Ian left the company after it was sold in 1993 and has been managing his family trust since, with investments in shares, kiwifruit, commercial property and forestry. He joined the Te Puna Quarry Park Society shortly after it was formed and has served as president, treasurer and, now, pest controller. He has also been trustee and chairperson of The Elms and Tauranga Art Gallery. He was chairperson when the Gallery opened. Until 2014, she was trustee and chairperson of the Tauranga Art Gallery Trust. She helped establish the Tauranga Art Gallery Foundation Trust in 2015. Phillida and her husband, George Savill, operated a dealer gallery - George Perry Gallery - and, in 2008, she established an art collective, Kunst, with 15 art-loving women from across New Zealand. She has been on many art collecting adventures. Phillida is a director of HRVBOP and is Managing Director of Mobility Equipment & Services Limited. Originally from the UK, she had various media roles there, including at the BBC, before working as a journalist at Bay of Plenty Times, MoreFM radio and RadioLIVE, then was editor of national magazines Simply You and Simply You Living. Natalie also serves on the boards of Tauranga Energy Consumer Trust (TECT) and The Incubator. She's passionate about growing arts and culture as a critical contributor to the vibrancy and economic growth of Tauranga. He has had a wide practice, principally assisting commercial property developers in Tauranga – recently including Westpac Centre, 11th Avenue, Tauranga Central in Cameron Road and Craigs Investment Partners. For some years he was a director of FMM (Manager of FMT) and currently serves on FMT’s loan committee. He is director of several property companies and a trustee of Waipuna Hospice Foundation, chairing its investment sub-committee.
